Notes to Parents!

  • Thank you for all who attended the PTO program last Monday.  It was a big success!
  • Dress for PE: It is important that your child is correctly dressed for PE.  Students must wear athletic (tennis) shoes and shorts or pants. (If girls wear dresses, they must have shorts underneath.)   We have P. E. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Snack: Thanks for the snacks.  We are getting a variety and the students love it. We have enough for this week.  If you haven’t sent any, please do so.
  • Vocabulary Words:  Please go over these vocabulary words. We go over them in class, but often that is not enough.  Your child has worked with them everyday. By Friday, your child should be very familiar with them.
  • AR Books:  Students can bring 1 AR book home each night.  Please have your student read it to him/herself or to you at least 3 times.  Ask him/her questions about it.  If your child is missing more than 1 or 2 words on a page (this does not include names), then the book is too difficult.  If he/she does not have a book, then the student has already read and tested on all of the books in his/her desk.
  • In Reading this week, our story is “Helping Out”.  It tells about different ways we can help someone.
  • In Language, we have been working on writing sentences.  We have studied nouns and verbs in sentences.  Now we are trying to make the sentences longer by adding adjectives to them.
  • In math, we are studying how to add 2 and 3-digit numbers without regrouping.
  • NotifyMe – Please go to the school website and sign up for NotifyMe.  This is a useful tool that sends emails and text messages to let you know of any emergencies throughout the day.
